Growth Charts
These charts are important and simple to understand. When babies are chronically ill, they don't grow adequately. We doctors can pick this lack of growth up by plotting a growth chart.
In fact, its so simple that you can do it too.
Firstly, the chart you use depends on if you're baby is a boy or girl.
Secondly, there are 3 different types of charts.
-
A chart that tracks your baby's weight with their age.
-
A chart that tracks your baby's height with their age.
-
A chart that tracks your baby's weight with their height.
As someone with no background of medical knowledge, heres what you can do:
1. Depending on your baby's gender, download the documents on the right.
2. Print them out. Plot on a monthly basis.

How to interpret:
-
After plotting a bit, you should have a line. This is your baby's trend line.
-
Your baby's trend line should always fall between the 2 orange lines.
 -
If it crosses an orange line, it means somethings wrong. See your doctor.
-
If it crosses a red line, somethings seriously wrong. See your doctor urgently.
-
If it plateaus for 1 or 2 months, its fine.
-
If it plateaus for 3 or more months, somethings wrong. See your doctor.
-
If it dips, somethings serious wrong. See your doctor urgently.

Tips:
Don't round off.
Measure height along the back from hills to top of head.
Don't overthink. If somethings wrong, it'll be obvious.
